What We Do:

Events

Each year, the Association hosts a series of cultural events that feature well-known speakers, visits to museums and historical sites, theatrical performances, and a variety of concerts and other musical events. For information about recent and forthcoming events, please click on the Events tab on the navigation bar.

Our Fall, 2008, Event:
China's Famed Terra Cotta Warriors

On October 11, 2008, over one hundred of us gathered at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana and toured its recent exhibition of figures from the famed Terra Cotta Army that guarded the tomb of the Qin Emperor, who unified China in 221 B.C. The tour was followed by a luncheon at the museum's Tangata Restaurant. For more details and pictures from this event, please click on the Events tab on the navigation bar.

Scholarships

We also sponsor three scholarship programs. One is for deserving high school students from inner-city schools to help them defray the costs of enrolling in college. The second is a series of International Scholarships awarded to outstanding foreign graduate students completing their doctoral studies at USC, UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, and Claremont Graduate University. Last but far from least are our Graduate Study Awards. Each of the ten Phi Beta Kappa chapters in Southern California annually selects one of its initiates to receive this award, which will facilitate his or her graduate study. For more information about our scholarship program, please click on the Awards tab on the navigation bar.
